Rebozo for professionals

Learn to work with the rebozo

In this day workshop, you'll learn to guide the Rebozo closing ritual yourself, so you can offer it to your own clients. You'll learn the different steps, the background and meaning of the ritual, and how to create a safe, loving space.

You experience the ritual yourself, both as receiver and as guide, and there is plenty of time to practise and ask questions. By the end of the day you have enough grounding to use the closing ritual independently in your own practice. You go home with a hand-out and a certificate.

The day is led by Thea van Tuijl of rebozo.nl. She has practised her craft for more than forty years and learned the technique from the Mexican midwife Naoli Vinaver.

Who it's for

For doulas and birth workers, women's coaches, therapists and bodyworkers, ceremony guides, yoga teachers, massage therapists, and other care providers working with women in times of transition.

The closing ritual can be used after a birth, and equally after loss, grief, burnout, or the end of a relationship. It marks the close of a phase and supports the recovery that follows.

The workshop is taught in Dutch. English speakers are welcome to join and we'll happily explain anything in English during the day.

The shawls

As a participant you receive 10% off a rebozo of your choice. Have a look at rebozo.nl/winkel beforehand to see which shawl appeals to you and let us know, and Thea will bring it along so you can feel it and try it out. The workbooks are also on sale at a discount that day.

Do you already have a rebozo or a large shawl? Bring it along to practise with.

Practical details

The workshop takes place at MIKA Yoga & Coffee on Emmaplein in Bilthoven, a minute's walk from the station, with free parking using a blue disc right outside. The yoga studio opens at 9:30 and the coffee bar from 9:00. Dress in layers: working with the rebozo warms you up, and sitting still cools you down. Bring something to write with for your own notes. A vegetarian lunch is available in the café with a separate ticket you order in advance via Hipsy; bringing your own lunch is fine too, and you eat that outside the café.

Join on 17 October?

There is room for twelve participants in total, and three places are still open. You book your spot directly via Hipsy. The workshop is taught in Dutch.
